Within the framework of the Disability Accessibility Project, on June 21, 2017, the Center for Disability and Development (DRD) organized a one-day workshop on "Equality and Integration" for nearly 60 people with disabilities in Phu Cat District, Binh Dinh Province. This is an important activity that meets the Objective 1 of Project: Raising awareness of the community and people with disabilities on the rights of people with disabilities, especially mentioning the right to access public facilities, the workshop was conducted through the permission of Binh Dinh Department of Labor and Social Welfare and the support of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Phu Cat District.

At the workshop, Ms. Luu Thi Anh Loan - Acting Director of DRD posed many questions and situations related to discrimination, or people with disabilities being passive in contributing related ideas. Most people with disabilities said that: "People with disabilities are usually lack of confidence. They are vulnerable and need social support to integrate with the society."
Another comment: "People with disabilities need jobs to work and earn money like everyone else, and no one wants to ask for money."

In the activity in which participants listed words or forms of disabilities, most people said that: "We grew up being called “disabled”, and ) it was all right, we got used to that. . But the important thing is the attitude, if people are ironic, we feel sad, but then it is ok. "

At the end of the workshop, Ms. Anh Loan shared: “It is undeniable that education and jobs are two of the most important keys to help people with disabilities integrate with the society. However, in order to help people with disabilities approach adequate education, jobs or health care,… it is also important to build up accessible facilities such as slopes, elevators, or items that are built based on constructing standards numbering QCVN:10/2014, promulgated by Construction Department.
