To help people with disabilities reach full rights, we do not go alone but should go together with partners.
Under the guidance of Dr. Vo Thi Hoang Yen, Director of DRD, after two days of the workshop "Needs Assessment of Organizations Involved in People with Disabilities", the Binh Dinh Association of PWDs identified the need / demand for the period of 2018-2020, with the priorities were the understanding of the policy to exercise its rights, and access to the public works and the public transport. These two conditions will enable PWDs access to health services, health and employment. Having a good job and good health, the spiritual life will be improved. At the same time, the participants identified what they were going to do, who they would like to collaborate with, in order to achieve what they wanted in 3 years.
After two days, participants shared:
"DRD has created opportunities for people with disabilities to express their needs, to help PWDs speak up and I hope there are more trainings like this one."
"This is my first time attending the workshop and I was very nervous at first, but then I felt like everyone was in my family."
- "This is the first time that knowledge is opened up, it is a new look at what you have to promote, then to see what is missing from it to plan effectively."
Before ending the workshop, Dr. Vo Thi Hoang Yen also shared and emphasized that in supporting PWDs, we do not go alone but should go together with our partners to help PWDs fully access their rights.
