On the afternoon of 28th June 2018, sponsored by Fortitude Educational Foundation, project “Access For All” carried out to offer 7 wheelchairs, 2 shake wheelchairs and 5 fixed-term grants (each15 millionVND) for 14 economically disadvantaged PWDs who want to escape poverty and live better in Dong Khoi Commune, Chau Thanh District, Tay Ninh Province with a total budget of 120 millionVND.
Attending the ceremony was Dr.Vo Thi Hoang Yen - Director and Founder of DRD; Ms.Nguyen Phuong Anh, Founder of Fortitude Educational Foundation, and her colleagues, Ms.Dang Thi Thuy Hang, a social worker in charge of Department of Invalids and Social Affairs, Dong Khoi Commune.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms.Phuong Anh hoped that with this support, people there will have more conditions and opportunities to live better. She also expects that when people return to the capital, they will be able to continue to support other PWDs who do not have approach to social support.
"This money will help my family a lot in maintaining my barber shop," said Mr.Lam, 1 of 5 people who received capital support. “We’ll try my best to develop business and give back the capital to give other people the opportunity to be supported as us now. "
Mr.Vo Thi Hoang Yen also expressed her appreciation for Fortitude Educational Foundation who believes that DRD is a bridge to connect the gap between community resources and PWDs.
On this occasion, the delegation also visited some PWD’s houses who have used the capital to support buying cattle, buy pigs to raise livestock, buy sewing machines, winding machines to do business to improve their life quality.
Tay Ninh’s PWDs in general and Dong Khoi Commune’s PWDs in particular have faced many difficulties. Fortitude Educational Foundation and DRD hope to have more social resources who collaborate with DRD on creating more equality, equal opportunity, contribute to remove barriers, promote PWD’s integration.n, thúc đẩy hoà nhập cho người khuyết tật.
